Advanced Plans Meeting: Thursday, May 9, 2024


The monthly meeting of the MAPC Advance Plans Committeewill be held on Thursday, May 9 at 10:00 a.m.

Wichita Transit Developing Transit Network Plan

Wichita Transit will hold a series of community outreach events aimed at soliciting feedback and engagement for the development of the Wichita Transit Network Plan.

The Wichita Transit Network Plan aims to improve transit accessibility, reliability and efficiency. Through these community outreach events, Wichita Transit seeks to involve residents, riders and stakeholders in the planning process to ensure that the resulting transit network plan addresses the diverse needs of the community.

A community survey and in-person outreach events will be held during May and community members are invited to participate and provide input to help shape the future of transit services in Wichita.

The planning team will also have in-person, pop-up public meetings at community events. The public is encouraged to attend, learn about proposed route changes and share their thoughts:

WSU: 9 a.m. - noon on Tuesday, May 7 at Wichita State University, at the Elliott Hall bus stop on WuShock Drive near the southeast corner of the building

Transit Center: 1 - 3 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7 at the Transit Center, 214 S. Topeka Street

Water Center: 4 - 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7 at the Water Center, 101 E. Pawnee

Transit Center: 6:30 - 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 8 at the Transit Center, 214 S. Topeka Street

"We are excited to engage with the Wichita community in the development of the Wichita Transit Network Plan," said Raven Alexander, Mobility Relations and Grants Manager with Wichita Transit. "Community input is vital to the success of this plan, and we look forward to hearing from residents, riders, and stakeholders as we work together to improve transit services for all."
