These are tasty!

I can't believe it's been almost a week already, time flies!  I've abstained from eating any wheat-based breads, crackers, muffins, cookies or the like and it hasn't been all that hard to do.  I had one craving, for garlic bread when eating a No Noodles Lasagna dish, but I didn't cave.

I've been making adjustments to the diet as I go along, ensuring to get some fruit and veggies inserted to help maintain some nutritional balance.  For the most part, the diet has been focused on proteins and dairy, with carbs largely sourced through the consumption of nuts and seeds, supplemented by veggies, fruit, and GF products.  I've tried to keep the carb count under 100 grams per day, and only exceeded it once, not bad.  I also try to consume carbs earlier in the day, so that activity can burn those carbs off before hitting the hay.  Only one miss there - those brownies for dessert today, which were quite tasty.

Here's the Day 6 Menu:

GF Diet Day 6

I enjoyed two GF products today.  I started my morning with an ONLY Elevation Bar for breakfast, I love these bars.  Capping off the day, was a GF brownie dessert.  I'm not normally a dessert or sweets kind of guy.  I like the stuff, but just don't eat it all that often.  The only times I eat dessert is typically during the holidays or for special occasions, and usually only when somebody else makes it.

This brownie mix is repeat buy worthy!

The liveGfree brownie mix is a good one.  Certified Gluten-Free, this mix uses tapioca starch and white rice flour instead of wheat flour.  Prepared as directed, the brownies have a robust, deep cocoa flavor.  I like my brownies with a slightly crispy outer edge, but a moist center, and this mix delivers on that.  I don't think anyone could distinguish the difference between this product and a traditional mix in a taste test.

Costing $2.59 for 16-ounce box at Aldi, I'm giving liveGfree Gluten Free Brownie Mix 5 out of 5 Bachelor on the Cheap Stars.  This is a very reasonably priced GF product, easy to prepare and easy to eat!  Compare the price to an 18.4-ounce box of Betty Crocker Milk Chocolate Brownie Mix for about $2.19 at the mainstream grocery store.  These GF brownies are definitely worthy of a repeat buy.

5 stars

Stay tuned for the Day 7 report and a weigh-in result on Day 8!
