Krispy's Po' Boy Fish Sandwich is OUTSTANDING!

Eating fish sandwiches on a daily basis for lunch and dinner... You know I'm doing this Challenge in the name of 'Food Science' (cough), right? I'm eating through the bad and average sandwiches so you don't have to...
In 2018 I reviewed the fish sandwiches from national fast food chains but I figured it's time for a fish sandwich update. I'll be reviewing all those restaurants again, as there's been some changes, some 'new and improved' sandwiches as well as new offerings. But for this 2022 review, along with the fast food joints I'll be including fast casual chains as well as the local restaurants, making it a "Who makes the best fish sandwich in Wichita?" Challenge!
Today I traveled Krispy's Chicken & Seafood for lunch. Having enjoyed their mixed platters a time or two, I was looking forward to sampling their Po' Boy Fish Sandwich.
This sandwich is OUTSTANDING! The catfish fillet was fried to perfection, the breading was crunchy in every bite and delightfully seasoned. The fillet itself was moist and flaky and the creamy remoulade sauce dressing the sandwich is authentic with a nice hint of a creole kick. A side of tartar sauce is included which I applied, kicking this sandwich up another notch with the lettuce balancing everything out. The sub roll is a perfect vessel for this sandwich with that slight chew on the outside but tender bread on the inside and you can tell from the pics the fish to bun ratio is spot on!
Costing me a bit over $12 for the sandwich, fries and a side of fried mac & cheese - ALSO OUTSTANDING - the Krispy's Chicken & Seafood Po' Boy Fish Sandwich scored 60 out of 63 possible points, giving it a 5 out of 5 Bachelor on the Cheap star rating. This is the best fish sandwich I've sampled so far in this challenge with 10 sandwiches being reviewed so far. It's a no brainer and absolutely repeat buy and so is the fried Mac & Cheese!
Located at 3009 S Hillside Ave, Wichita, KS 67216, the service at Krispy's was friendly and fast. My carry out meal order was taken, prepared and received in about five minutes.
